Job summary

Paterson Public Schools is seeking an Assistant Coach for Girls Volleyball at East Side High School in Paterson, NJ. The position runs during the fall season with season dates August 17, 2026 - November 22, 2026.

Starting immediately, candidates must hold a New Jersey Teacher's Certificate or Substitute Teacher Certificate and meet CPR/AED and concussion/heat safety certifications. Applicants should be available daily during the fall season and may be required to complete a Sports First Aid

Qualifications

• New Jersey Teacher's Certificate OR Substitute Teacher Certificate required.
• Coaching experience preferred but not required.
• Must be available daily during the fall sports season.
• CPR and AED certifications required, with current certificates.
• Concussion Awareness and Wellness certificate (or equivalent) renewed annually.
• Heat Acclimatization Awareness and Wellness certificate (or equivalent) renewed annually.
• One-year window to complete a Sports First Aid course after hire.

Responsibilities

• Assist with coaching duties for girls volleyball.
• Be available daily during the fall season and adhere to the schedule.
• Maintain required safety and first aid certifications as part of eligibility.
