Job summary

Lehigh University’s NCAA Division I Athletics program seeks an Assistant Coach for Men’s & Women’s Cross Country and Track & Field. The role combines as primary assistant for distance events with supporting event planning for Paul Short Run, NCAA Regional Championships, and other Lehigh-hosted meets; requires top coaching, recruiting, and organizational skills.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree required; Master’s degree preferred.
1–3 years of relevant experience.
Experience as a student-athlete.
Collegiate distance coaching or related experience.
Knowledge of NCAA recruiting and compliance regulations.
Strong organizational, communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills.
Ability to work evenings, weekends, and travel as needed.
Driver's license and ability to satisfy university requirements.
Experience in fundraising/alumni engagement is a plus.

Responsibilities

Mentor student-athletes academically, athletically, and personally.
Design and implement training plans for cross country and track events.
Coordinate with high-performance support staff and manage travel during competitions.
Recruit high-caliber student-athletes to meet program needs.
Lead budgeting, scheduling, equipment management, and logistics.
Co-lead planning and execution of home meets and national events.
Promote the program and engage alumni and donors.
