Assistant Dance Coach

Summary: This position reports to the Head Dance Coach and is responsible for providing coaching expertise and leadership for the administration of the intercollegiate dance program; assisting the head coach in the effective education, management, and administration of all aspects relating to a positive and beneficial intercollegiate experience for student-athletes, while performing other related duties as assigned.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Assist in developing and leading practices when necessary.
• Create and implement gameday material, including choreography, staging, cleaning, and other duties as assigned.
• Travel to all regular season and postseason contests. Occasional driving will be required.
• Manage the team during games, events, fundraisers, volunteer activities, and other campus functions.
• Work with the head coach on team development.
• Identify and recruit qualified student-athletes.
• Maintain strong relationships with student-athletes and their families through events, email, phone, and meetings.
• Collaborate with other Athletic Department members.
• Support the goals, values, and vision of the institution and Athletic Department.
• Participate in fundraising activities in coordination with the head coach and advancement team.
• Communicate regularly with support staff across departments to ensure an efficient program.
• Represent the university at professional meetings, alumni events, and civic activities as requested.
• Attend department and staff meetings.
• Encourage outreach programs benefiting the campus and community.
• Maintain relationships with parents, alumni, and community supporters to promote the program.
• Evening and weekend work is required.

Criteria

• Experience coaching or competing at collegiate or professional level is preferred. High school coaching experience (2+ years) considered.
• Strong organizational and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Flexible schedule including evenings and weekends.
• Clean driving record.
