Iron County School District sends Canyon View High School’s Assistant Boys Wrestling Coach to support the head coach in practices, strategy, and athlete motivation. You will help guide players, teach rules and techniques, and ensure safety and proper conduct during activities.

The role includes coordinating practice time, maintaining records, and assisting with equipment and event duties while upholding district policies and sportsmanship values.

Responsibilities

• Assists in conducting practices and organizing practice time for individual and team development.
• Assists in developing game strategies based on team capabilities and strengths.
• Coaches and instructs players on rules, equipment, and techniques of the sport.
• Observes players during practice and competition and informs Head Coach about needed improvements.
• Supports on determining game strategy and opponent preparation.
• Maintains standards of pupil behavior and proper supervision of athletes at all times.
• Follows procedures for athlete injury responses and safety protocols.
• Follows state, regional, and district athletic regulations.
• Models sportsmanship and appropriate conduct toward players, officials, and spectators.
• Handles equipment, supplies, and uniforms, and participates in related inventory tasks.
• Participates in events like banquets, award nights, and assemblies.
• Maintains eligibility forms, emergency data cards, insurance records, and other related records.

Canyon View High School is seeking an Assistant Boys Wrestling Coach.

The Assistant Coach is responsible for assisting the head coach with various coaching responsibilities including conducting practices, instructing student athletes in game strategies and techniques to prepare them for athletic competition, and motivating student athletes to develop an appreciation of the sport.

• Assists in assessing player's skills and assigns team positions.
• Assists in developing a regular practice schedule and organizes practice time to provide both individual and team development.
• Coaches and instructs players, individually or in groups, regarding the rules, regulations, equipment, and techniques of the sport.
• Observes players, during competition and practice and keeps the Head Coach informed to determine the needs for individual or team improvement.
• Assists with determining game strategy based on the team's capabilities.
• Assists the Head Coach in maintaining standards of pupil behavior and providing proper supervision of athletes at all times.
• Follows established procedures in the event of an athlete's injury.
• Follows state, regional, and district regulations governing the athletic program.
• Models sports-like behavior and maintains appropriate conduct towards players, officials, and spectators.
• Follows established procedures for the proper care, maintenance, and requisitioning of equipment, supplies, and uniforms.
• Participates in special activities to include banquets, award nights, and assemblies.
• Performs support tasks such as distributing and maintaining eligibility forms, emergency data cards, insurance records, equipment inventory, and other related records.
• Models non discriminatory practices in all activities.
