Job summary

Pleasanton Jr Sr High School is seeking an Assistant Coach to help build and lead the Girls Wrestling program. The ideal candidate will have a strong wrestling background, leadership, and a commitment to fostering a positive, inclusive team culture.

You will develop training plans, supervise practice sessions, assess progress, and ensure safety and sportsmanship. Evening/weekend availability and travel for competitions are expected.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree preferred in Physical Education, Sports Management, or related field.
• Strong wrestling knowledge including rules, techniques and strategies.
• Excellent leadership, communication and interpersonal abilities.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement a comprehensive wrestling training program.
• Lead daily practice sessions and provide athlete instruction and support.
• Foster an inclusive, respectful team culture and promote sportsmanship.
• Evaluate athletes' progress and give constructive feedback.
• Prioritize safety with conditioning and injury-prevention measures.
