Job summary

Ascend Hospice is seeking an Assistant Clinical Director in Massachusetts to oversee nursing services, support the Director of Nursing, and ensure compliance with federal, state, and local standards. The candidate must hold a State Certified RN license; CHPN certification is a plus, with at least 3 years of nursing experience in hospice or homecare.

Strong administrative, communication, and staff supervision skills are essential for performance documentation and case management.

Qualifications

• Must hold a State Certified RN license.
• CHPN certification is a plus.
• Minimum 3+ years of nursing experience in hospice or homecare.

Responsibilities

• Performs tasks as assigned by the designated leader.
• Staff development.
• Provides supervisor back-up for nursing departments when leadership is unavailable.
• Management of key services in accordance with policies, procedures and current federal, state and local standards.
• Works with the Director of Nursing and Executive Director to ensure care meets current standards of nursing/clinical practice.
• Ensure adequate support to Regional Managers.
• Ensure reporting (including QAPI) are turned in as required by policy and procedure.
• Position exercises judgment in applying professional knowledge to solve problems.
• Support intake department.
• Assist with monthly clinical invoices and other managerial duties.

Education:

Bachelor's Degree in Nursing

Professional Experience:

• Must have a State Certified RN license
• Certified Hospice & Palliative Care Nurse (CHPN) certification, a plus
• 3+ years of Nursing experience
• Hospice or Homecare experience a must
• Demonstrated skills in administrative performance, including expertise in written/oral communication, supervision of staff, documentation requirements, service coordination and case management.
