Qualifications

• Active Wyoming State Bar license required.
• 1–3 years of experience in the practice of law preferred.
• Strong knowledge of criminal law and procedures.

Responsibilities

• Conduct legal research using law libraries and databases and stay updated on laws.
• Interview witnesses and prepare testimony for trials.
• Review police reports and other investigative materials.
• Coordinate with victims regarding restitution and rights under the Victim’s Bill of Rights.
• Draft briefs, pleadings, correspondence, and memoranda.
• Represent the City in municipal court trials, bench and jury.
• Prepare and respond to appellate filings as needed.
• Review proposed ordinance changes affecting prosecution.
• Monitor legal changes and adjust policies as appropriate.
