Job summary

The Grand Hotel Golf Resort & Spa, Autograph Collection, part of the PCH Hotels & Resorts portfolio, is seeking an experienced Assistant Chief Engineer to support the Chief Engineer in maintaining the property’s systems and ensuring safe, guest-ready conditions on Alabama’s Gulf Coast.

You will lead engineering staff, coordinate maintenance priorities, and oversee compliance with codes while collaborating with other departments to deliver exceptional guest experiences.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; technical education or bachelor’s degree preferred.
• Experience leading engineering, maintenance, or facilities teams in hotels or resorts.
• Working knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, electrical, mechanical, refrigeration, and life-safety systems.
• Strong leadership, communication, organization, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to provide hands-on support while managing multiple priorities.
• Certifications required to comply with local and national codes.
• Physical ability to perform tasks on-site, including lifting up to 50 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily engineering operations in the Chief Engineer's absence.
• Maintain HVAC, refrigeration, plumbing, electrical, and life-safety systems.
• Coordinate inspections, preventative maintenance, and work orders.
• Lead, train, and coach Engineering staff while ensuring safety compliance.
• Respond to maintenance-related guest concerns and collaborate with departments.
• Assist with budgets, inventory, and capital improvement projects.
