Job summary

Fernwood Property Management is seeking an Assistant Chief Engineer to support daily operation of building systems. You will inspect and maintain mechanical equipment, log readings, and complete service requests in condo units and common areas.

You will train staff, coordinate with the Chief Engineer and Property Manager, supervise outside contractors, respond to emergencies, and help ensure safety and compliance across all property operations.

Qualifications

• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Proficiency in Outlook, Word and Excel.

Responsibilities

• Under the direction of the Chief Engineer, administer building operations and coordinate with vendors.
• Maintain daily logs of equipment operation and log inspections.
• Train janitorial/maintenance staff on procedures and equipment.
• Respond promptly to emergencies per documented procedures.
• Ensure compliance with company policy for amenity spaces.
• Communicate with Chief Engineer and Property Manager to improve procedures.
• Work with staff to promote building safety.
• Perform routine unit remodel inspections to ensure code compliance.
