Arbor Lodging in Rosemont, IL is seeking an Assistant Chief Engineer to manage budget, capital expenditures, preventative maintenance, and energy conservation across our hotel portfolio. You will lead the Engineering team, coordinate with property finance, supervise contractors, and ensure safety, security, and asset protection while delivering reliable operations.

Responsibilities

• Report directly to the General Manager as the responsible party for the Engineering division.
• Support in all technical matters such as the fire-protection system.
• Coordinate planning and organization of technical works for the hotel.
• Maintain technical facilities and systems; perform repairs and revisions.
• Manage Engineering Asset Management System and enterprise processes.
• Execute material orders and coordinate budgets with property finance.
• Oversee scheduling, management, and payroll of the engineering team.
• Assign, track, and follow up on staff and contractor tasks.
• Help increase guest and employee satisfaction through training and communication.
• Engage with vendors to plan contracted maintenance work.

Summary:

The Assistant Chief engineer is responsible for managing budget, capital expenditures, preventative maintenance, and energy conservation. Accountable for maintaining the building and grounds with particular attention towards safety, security, and asset protection.

Duties & Responsibilities:

• Report directly to the General Manager and be the responsible party for the Engineering division
• Supporting in all technical matters such as the fire-protection system
• Contact person of the engineering department for all technical matters of the hotel
• Planning and organization of technical works
• Maintaining our technical facilities and systems
• Taking care of repairs and routine revisions
• Management of our Transcendent - Engineering Asset Management System to administrate enterprise-wide engineering processes, standards, and performance measurement
• Execution of material orders
• Coordination of the engineering teamincluding scheduling, management, and payroll
• Assigns, tracks and follows up on status of work assigned to staff and contractors
• Helps to increase guest and employee satisfaction through effective communications and training
• Work with property finance and management team to plan and execute capital expenditures for the hotel
• Collection and processing of invoices from vendors for payment by the hotel
• Assist in the generation of and management of budgeting for Engineering related expenses
• Engage with local vendors to prepare and execute contracted maintenance work

Requirements

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or GED; 4 years experience in the engineering and maintenance or related professional area; technical training in HVAC-R/electrical/plumbing.

OR

• 2-year degree from an accredited university in Building and Construction, Engineering, Mechanics, or related major; 2 years experience in the engineering and maintenance or related professional area; technical training in HVAC-R/electrical/plumbing.
