Job summary

Abbott in Columbus, Ohio is seeking a lab analyst to perform analytical testing across finished and in-process products using HPLC, GC, ICP-OES, and other methods. You will conduct ingredient analyses, moisture and allergen testing, and ensure accurate documentation in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

The role requires a strong background in chemistry, 3+ years in a lab, and familiarity with infant formula and nutritionals regulatory standards.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma plus 1 year of college science and 1 year of college math, or equivalent experience.
  • 3+ years of lab experience.
  • Knowledge of analytical lab instrumentation (HPLC, GC, ICP).
  • Understanding regulatory standards for infant formula and nutritionals.
  • Ability to follow verbal and written instructions and prepare simple reports.

Responsibilities

  • Perform analytical testing for in-process and finished products using HPLC, Kjeldahl, ICP-OES, and GC.
  • Conduct ingredient analyses, titrations, moisture testing, organoleptic testing and allergen testing.
  • Maintain documentation and housekeeping responsibilities.
  • Assist in CAPA/RCA investigations and ensure compliance with safety measures.

must understand how to communicate active or potential issues.* Must be able to assess day to day operations to meet schedule expectations and elevate issues/concerns.* Strong ability to understand and communicate shift needs such as releases, potential corrections, and instrument issues with lab team members and across plant processing and filling line teams.* Create training plans for new hires; delegate trainers as needed.* Proficient and able to train new hires on all lab methods.* Provide guidance on day-to-day operations for Chem I and Chem II as needed throughout shift.* On shift liaison for FLL elevations when supervisor is not available.* Proficient and able to train new hires on all lab methods. **SHIFT****3rd Shift, 11p-7am, Tuesday - Sunday** **REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS*** High School diploma or equivalent, plus 1 year of appropriate college science related studies and 1 year of college mathematics (algebra, geometry, or calculus), or an equivalent combination of education and work experience.* 3+ years of experience in a lab* Knowledge of analytical lab instrumentation HPLC, GC, ICP, general titration methods, pH testing* Basic knowledge of applicable regulatory standards and requirements for infant formula and nutritionals.* Ability to follow verbal and written instructions, prepare simple reports, read and record gauge and display readings and use knowledge of chemistry acquired through formal education with moderate assistance from supervision.* Mathematics knowledge to include: addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, decimals, fractions, proportions, and basic keyboard skills;
