Job summary

Clearfork Academy in Fort Worth, TX seeks an Assistant Chef to support the Head Chef in preparing nutritious meals for adolescents in recovery. The role emphasizes following recipes, maintaining safety and sanitation, and keeping a clean kitchen.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • One to three years of food service or kitchen experience preferred.
  • Current Food Handler Certification required upon hire.
  • Current CPR/First Aid Certification required upon hire.
  • Valid Texas Class C Driver's License.

Responsibilities

  • Assist the Head Chef with daily meal preparation for breakfast, lunch, dinner, and snacks.
  • Prepare meals according to menus, recipes, dietary requirements, and portion guidelines.
  • Ensure food is prepared, stored, and served safely following food safety and sanitation standards.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary kitchen, food prep areas, equipment, and utensils.
  • Complete food temperature logs and daily production records.
  • Assist with inventory management, stocking, grocery shopping, and receiving deliveries.
  • Properly label and store food products to maintain freshness and safety.
  • Report equipment repairs and maintenance needs to the Head Chef.
  • Support compliance with Texas regulations, Joint Commission standards, and facility policies.
  • Work collaboratively with the kitchen team to provide quality meals for residential clients.
  • Perform additional kitchen and food service duties as assigned.

Description Help Adolescents Build a New Legacy At Clearfork Academy, we provide high-quality substance abuse and mental health treatment for adolescents and young adults. We're looking for a dependable, organized, and detail-oriented Assistant Chef who enjoys creating nutritious meals in a structured environment while making a meaningful difference in the lives of teens in recovery. This role is ideal for someone who takes pride in following established procedures, maintaining a clean and organized kitchen, and ensuring every meal is prepared safely and consistently.

What You'll Do
  • Assist the Head Chef with daily meal preparation for breakfast, lunch, dinner, and snacks

What We're Looking For
  • High School Diploma or equivalent, or one year of related work experience
  • One to three years of food service or commercial kitchen experience preferred
  • Current Food Handler Certification (required upon hire)
  • Current CPR/First Aid Certification (required upon hire)
  • Valid Texas Class C Driver's License
  • Knowledge of food preparation, sanitation, and safe food handling practices
  • Ability to maintain accurate records and inventory
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to work independently while following established procedures
  • Professional communication skills and commitment to maintaining confidentiality
  • Ability to lift up to 25 pounds and work in a fast-paced kitchen environment
