Job summary

Douglas County School District is seeking an Assistant Coach for Poms at ThunderRidge High School to support a competitive cheer program. The role focuses on athlete development, program organization, and promoting student-athlete academics alongside sportsmanship.

The candidate will work with administrators, teachers, coaches, sponsors, students, and the community to uphold CHSAA, DCSD, and ThunderRidge standards while fostering a positive team culture.

Qualifications

• Previous cheerleading experience required.
• Strong organizational and communication skills.
• Ability to be at practices 3:30-5:30pm during the week and at games/basketball games plus weekend competitions.
• Spotting tumbling preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Assist and help Coach at practices, camps, and clinics.
• Support athlete development in leadership, teamwork, sportsmanship, and accountability.
• Attend practices, football games, some basketball games, competitions, camps, and other team events.
• Foster an inclusive, respectful, and positive team culture.
