Job summary

Richmond Public Schools is seeking an Assistant Cheerleading Coach at Richmond High School for the Arts in Richmond, VA. This temporary, part-time role is available immediately and reports to the School Principal and Student Activities Director.

The coach will work within VHSL guidelines, plan regular practices, and develop athletes while collaborating with staff on uniforms, equipment, and safety. Spanish bilingual ability is a plus but not required.

Qualifications

• Must be licensed teachers regularly employed by the School Board, or otherwise have special permission from the Superintendent's office and VHSL to coach.
• Demonstrated ability to develop and manage athletic activities sanctioned by VHSL.
• Bilingual skills to include Spanish are a plus.

Responsibilities

• Coaches the regular program of practice in season.
• Plans and schedules practices and coaches participants for excellence.
• Assists in the selection, assignment and evaluation of assistant coaches.
• Ensures maintenance, safety and cleanliness of uniforms, equipment and facilities used.
• Enforces VHSL policies and school regulations and sportsmanship.
• Performs other duties as required.
