Job summary

Otsego seeks a qualified professional to lead the daily operations of the City’s Finance Department, acting as Assistant Chief Financial Officer. The role covers bank reconciliations, cash/investment management, budget development and monitoring, and financial reporting.

The position requires at least a bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance and a minimum of three years in governmental accounting or finance, with potential for advancement and supervisory responsibilities over accounting

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance is required.
• Three (3) years of experience in a governmental accounting or finance related position.

Responsibilities

• Manages the daily operations of the Finance Department including serving as the Assistant Chief Financial Officer of the City.
• Performs essential accounting functions such as bank reconciliations, cash and investment management, budget development and monitoring, financial reporting and risk management.
• Handles additional duties as assigned by the Finance Director.
• Oversees accountants, accounting clerk and utility billing staff.
