Job summary

Child Development Schools is seeking an Assistant Director for the Morehead City, NC center to help lead operations and support a team of educators. You will work closely with the Center Director to ensure a safe, compliant, and welcoming environment for children and families.

The role emphasizes leadership, organization, and people management, with opportunities to grow into broader center leadership. Competitive benefits and a 35k–45k salary range reflect experience and education.

Responsibilities

• Lead daily operations and coordinate staff schedules to ensure classroom ratios and smooth center function
• Provide regular coaching and feedback to teaching staff to maintain program quality
• Maintain accurate child and staff records and complete required compliance reporting
• Prepare and file daily, weekly, monthly, and quarterly reports for compliance and governance
• Communicate with parents, conduct tours, and escalate complex issues to the Director
• Assist with onboarding of new hires and provide coverage in the Director's absence
• Open and/or close the center as assigned
