Job summary

Xiente is seeking an Assistant Director to support the Center Director in delivering high-quality early education for all children in the center's care. The role collaborates with staff to implement curriculum and classroom activities that meet the center's goals and ensure health and safety.

The ideal candidate will guide staff development, monitor accreditation standards, oversee funding streams (Head Start/PreK), and help recruit and retain qualified teachers while ensuring data-driven

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education or equivalent with transcripts.
• Minimum of 1 year supervising staff and managing a child care center.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Bilingual Spanish/English preferred; dual language commitment.
• Ability to analyze data to inform decisions.
• Proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint, Microsoft Office and Salesforce.
• Ability to secure required clearances and a driver’s license (preferred).

Responsibilities

• Develops, coordinates and implements extended care activities and maintains ratios and records.
• Analyze academic reports and provide feedback to teachers on student outcomes.
• Promote staff engagement and a positive, committed work environment.
• Ensure compliance with Keystone STARS, NAEYC and other standards.
• Conduct weekly classroom visits, offering coaching and support.
• Assist in audits and funding compliance across various programs.
• Track teachers' professional development hours and credentials.
• Maintain inventory of classrooms and materials for a stimulating learning environment.
• Collaborate with the Center Director to staff classrooms with qualified teachers.
• Aim for high staff retention and monitor attendance for operations efficiency.
• Act as Center Director as needed to ensure continuity.
• Complete any other duties as assigned.
