Job summary

Minuteman Food Mart is seeking an Assistant Category Manager to support the Category Manager with merchandising projects, promotion building, vendor relations, and marketing program design. You’ll gain foundational skills while working closely with the Category Manager across multiple categories.

You’ll contribute to data‑driven decisions, coordinate new items and promos, and participate in vendor meetings to develop competency in category management within a fast‑paced retail environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, or related field; Master’s a plus.
• 1–2 years in category management, merchandising, or product management in retail.
• Excellent communication, negotiation, and cross‑team collaboration.
• Proficient in category management software and retail analytics; MS Office.
• Strong business intelligence, curiosity, and independent work ability.
• Customer focus with knowledge of center store needs.

Responsibilities

• Merchandising support: assist with planogram resets and product placement across categories.
• Promotion building: develop and execute promotional programs and track results.
• Administrative & analytical: data entry, reporting, and support for category reviews.
