Job summary

The Boca Raton is seeking an Assistant Captain to support front-of-house service in delivering a polished dining experience. You will assist with beverage service, take cocktail and dessert orders, operate the POS, and ensure timely delivery to guests.

Ideal candidates have prior serving experience, preferably in refined or luxury settings, and can follow detailed service standards with professionalism. This developmental role provides growth toward a Captain position within our team.

Qualifications

• Prior restaurant service experience required.
• Refined or luxury restaurant experience preferred.
• Knowledge of food and beverage service standards.
• Ability to operate POS systems.
• Ability to take cocktail and dessert orders confidently.
• Strong communication and attention to detail.
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced dining environment.

Responsibilities

• Support the Captain in delivering a smooth, polished dining experience through attentive service and clear communication.
• Greet guests courteously and professionally, reinforcing a welcoming and attentive atmosphere.
• Assist in explaining menu items, specials, and promotions when engaging with guests.
• Assist in taking and entering cocktails, dessert, and other beverage orders accurately into the POS system.
• Repeat orders to guests to ensure clarity and accuracy.
• Retrieve food and beverage items from the kitchen or bar, verify accuracy and presentation, and deliver promptly with appropriate accompaniments.
• Monitor tables for basic guest needs, such as beverage refills, pacing awareness, and table readiness, escalating concerns to the Captain as appropriate.
• Respond to guest requests in a timely and professional manner, supporting the Captain in maintaining guest satisfaction.
• Present and process guest checks in accordance with restaurant and hotel procedures when assigned.
