Job summary

American Career College is seeking a Financial Aid Officer to guide students in planning financial aid selections for healthcare career goals. You will apply advanced financial aid expertise to verify eligibility and process aid under federal, state, and institutional rules, while supporting students through their educational journey.

Collaborating with the Financial Aid Director, you will help create action plans, train staff, and ensure timely processing of files.

Qualifications

  • Advanced knowledge in financial aid or related disciplines.
  • 5–7 years of relevant experience.
  • Minimum 2 years as Financial Aid Officer at accredited college or university.
  • Minimum 3 years as a customer service provider.
  • At least 1 year using an enterprise-wide SIS in higher education.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with Financial Aid Director to plan and schedule packaging of aid files.
  • Assist in training new and continuing Financial Aid Officers.
  • Represent the Financial Aid Office at meetings or events in the director's absence.
  • Monitor daily student traffic and office appointment calendar.
  • Communicate with the Financial Aid Director about events and issues.

Job description

Come care with us at American Career College where you will meet with students and prospective students to provide information on financial aid and options that can help them develop a financial plan for achieving their healthcare career goals. In addition, you will put your technical financial aid skills to work ensuring proper eligibility and processing in accordance with federal, state, and institutional rules and regulations. You will make an impact by:

  • Collaborating with the Financial Aid Director to create action plans and work schedules to ensure that packaging and repackaging of student financial aid files is timely and in compliance with institutional and departmental policies and procedures.
  • Assisting campus Financial Aid Director with training of both new and continuing Financial Aid Officers and Sr. Financial Aid Officers.
  • Representing the campus Financial Aid Office at meetings or events in the absence of the Financial Aid Director.
  • Monitoring daily student traffic and appointment calendar for the office to ensure timely and efficient service to students.
  • Communicating regularly and effectively with campus Financial Aid Director to ensure that key events, concerns, or issues are shared and appropriately addressed.

Your Experience Includes:

  • Specializes in one or more related disciplines with advanced knowledge. Expert in the subject matter within the school/area. Experience in administering projects and programs required.
  • Generally, 5-7 years of relevant experience required.
  • A minimum of 2 years of experience as a Financial Aid Officer at an accredited College or University.
  • A minimum of 3 years of experience as a customer service provider.
  • At least 1 year of experience using an enterprise-wide student information system in a higher education setting.

Education:

Associates degree from an accredited college/university or equivalent experience (5 years minimum) required.

Licenses/Certifications: May not be in default on a federal student loan or owe repayment on a federal grant.
