Job summary

Family Dollar's corporate office is seeking an FD Assistant Buyer to support Buyers with planning, purchasing and merchandising across primary categories. You will help maximize sales, profits and market share by assisting with sourcing, evaluating and pricing products for lines.

You will collaborate on strategy, ads and promotions, create reports, analyze categories, and participate in line reviews. Travel is limited to 5–10% as needed.

Qualifications

• One (1) or more years of retail, buying, replenishment or related experience.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office desktop applications and Windows-based programs, plus retail math.
• Merchandising, product, trend and analytical skills are beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Develop merchandising strategy and execution with Buyers, including assortment and pricing plans.
• Assist with ads, endcaps, and proofs to ensure accuracy before review.
• Support Buyers in sourcing, evaluating, and pricing products for lines.
• Create MicroStrategy and other reports as requested by Buyers.
• Analyze categories regularly to identify opportunities and trends and design action plans.
• Participate in assortment planning decisions and line reviews.
• Assist in pre/post line reviews, generating reports and managing vendor responsibilities.
• Obtain samples and oversee accuracy of ads and signage during promotions.
• Maintain funding tracking (co-op, billings) and reconcile reports.
