Under direct supervision, this position is responsible for procuring materials, parts, components, and software in the United States based on requests from Mitsubishi Electric Corporation and its affiliated companies ("MELCO"). The position coordinates the export of these products, primarily to Japan, provides product and supplier information to MELCO and its affiliated companies, and supports purchasing and administrative activities through order processing, data management, and report preparation.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

• Request quotations from vendors upon receipt of RFQs (Requests for Quotation) from MELCO. Prepare and submit MEUS quotations to customers and follow up until Purchase Order Requests (O/Rs) are issued.
• Review pricing and conduct routine negotiations with vendors, as necessary, before MELCO issues an O/R.
• Generate and issue MEUS purchase orders to vendors upon receipt of customer O/Rs from MELCO.
• Monitor supplier performance, product quality, and delivery schedules to ensure requirements are met.
• Classify deliverables and/or technical data identified in MEUS purchase orders in accordance with the MEUS Export Compliance Program (ECP) prior to export.
• Under direct supervision, assist in preparing export license applications to the U.S. Department of State (DOS) or the U.S. Department of Commerce (DOC), in coordination with the Legal Department and MEUS Export Control Administrator (ECA). Responsibilities include collecting required information from customers and coordinating the application process after issuance of the MEUS purchase order and prior to export.
• Coordinate with MEUS's designated freight forwarder to prepare shipments to customer-designated locations outside the United States. After all export compliance requirements have been satisfied, generate MEUS invoices, obtain required approvals, and authorize shipment under MEUS's power of attorney.
• Assist in coordinating with vendors and MELCO to resolve warranty-related issues after delivery.
• Support the review and implementation of purchasing agreements and terms and conditions with vendors in cooperation with MELCO and the Legal Department.
• Research and identify new suppliers and products throughout North and South America and introduce potential opportunities to MELCO.
• Obtain annual procurement forecasts from assigned customers and prepare annual sales budget projections twice per year (June and December). Support efforts to achieve annual sales targets.
• Download data from purchasing systems and prepare reports, including monthly sales reports, weekly delivery status reports, and other operational reports.
• Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

• Bachelor's degree preferred; equivalent combination of education and relevant experience will be considered.
• 1-3 years of experience in purchasing, procurement, logistics, supply chain, international trade, customer service, reporting, or a related business function preferred.
• Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including data analysis, report preparation, and spreadsheet management.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word and PowerPoint.
• Experience working with purchasing, ERP, or other business systems preferred.
• Understanding of business practices and cultural differences between Japan and the United States.
• Experience working in a multicultural business environment is preferred.
• Must be eligible to access and receive ITAR- and EAR-controlled technical data in compliance with applicable U.S. export control laws and regulations.

The pay range for this position at commencement of employment is expected to be between $26.93/hr. and $37.02/hr.; however, base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements, including commissions based on achieving individual performance and/or sales metrics, incentive compensation and discretionary awards in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits (including 401(k) eligibility and various paid time off benefits, such as vacation, sick time, and parental leave), dependent on the position offered. Details of participation in these additional compensation and benefit plans will be provided if an employee receives an offer of employment.

If hired, employee will be in an “at-will position” and the Company reserves the right to modify base salary (as well as any other discretionary payment or compensation program) at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, Company or individual department/team performance, and market factors.
