Job description

Worthington Healthcare Center, a member of the CommuniCare Family of Companies, is currently recruiting for an Assistant Business Office Manager to join our team.

PURPOSE/BELIEF STATEMENT:

The Assistant Business Office Manager is responsible for maintaining CHS business office policies and assisting with A/R and Resident Funds. The role requires functioning as both a team member and leader to ensure work is accomplished and quality service is delivered. The position also involves managing resources and supporting team members in resource management.

JOB DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
  1. Make daily deposits to the facility bank account.
  2. Review monthly statements for accuracy.
  3. Maintain up-to-date information with Collection Blitz Log and Medicaid Pending Log weekly.
  4. Identify and assist with the preparation of adjustments, attach supporting documentation, and submit to the Executive Director for approval.
  5. Maintain monthly A/R duties.
  6. Post ancillaries, daily census activity, and daily cash (if applicable).
  7. Maintain an accurate bed hold utilization log and notify residents/responsible parties at the start and end of bed holds about remaining days available in the calendar year.
  8. Assist with completing insurance forms as needed.
  9. Provide assistance with answering questions and providing information to families and residents.
  10. Assist with outbound mailings and ensure sufficient postage.
  11. Order office supplies for the entire building and control available resources.
  12. Maintain resident accounts.
  13. Attend and participate in scheduled training, education classes, and orientation programs to enhance quality of care.
  14. Perform other related activities as assigned or requested.
  15. Adhere to established departmental, center, and home office policies, procedures, quality improvement programs, safety, environmental, and infection control standards.
QUALIFICATIONS, KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES
  1. Experience in a healthcare setting preferred.
  2. Supervisory experience and management training preferred.
  3. Experience with relevant software applications preferred.
  4. Thorough understanding of accounts receivable, collections, resident funds, and information systems management.
  5. Ability to make independent decisions when necessary.
  6. Ability to interact tactfully with team members, staff, residents, families, visitors, government agencies, and the public.
  7. Willingness to adopt new methods and principles into practices.
  8. Basic computer literacy and skills.
