Worthington Healthcare Center, a member of the CommuniCare Family of Companies, is currently recruiting for an Assistant Business Office Manager to join our team.

Purpose/Belief Statement

The Assistant Business Office Manager is responsible for maintaining CHS business office policies and assisting with A/R and Resident Funds. The role involves working as both a team member and leader to ensure quality service, supporting team members, and managing resources effectively.

Job Duties & Responsibilities
  • Make daily deposits to the facility bank account.
  • Review monthly statements for accuracy.
  • Maintain up-to-date information in Collection Blitz Log and Medicaid Pending Log weekly.
  • Identify and assist with preparing adjustments, attach supporting documentation, and submit for approval.
  • Assist with maintaining monthly A/R duties.
  • Post ancillaries, daily census activity, and daily cash (if applicable).
  • Maintain accurate bed hold utilization logs and notify residents/responsible parties of remaining days.
  • Assist with completing insurance forms as needed.
  • Provide assistance with answering questions and providing information to families and residents.
  • Assist with outbound mailings and ensure sufficient postage.
  • Order office supplies and control available resources.
  • Maintain resident accounts.
  • Attend scheduled training, education, and orientation programs.
  • Perform other related activities as assigned.
  • Adhere to departmental, center, and home office policies, quality improvement, safety, environmental, and infection control standards.
Qualifications, Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
  • Experience in a healthcare setting preferred.
  • Supervisory and management training experience.
  • Experience with related software applications.
  • Understanding of accounts receivable, collections, resident funds, and information systems management.
  • Ability to make independent decisions when necessary.
  • Tactful communication with team members, staff, residents, families, visitors, and agencies.
  • Willingness to learn and incorporate new methods and principles.
  • Basic computer literacy.
