Job summary

Park Community Credit Union in Louisville is seeking an Assistant Branch Manager I to lead branch staff in delivering exceptional member experiences. The Assistant Branch Manager I also assists in hiring, training, and evaluating employees, representing the branch in the community, maintaining communications with Retail Operations, and ensuring branch activities comply with credit union policies and procedures.

The Assistant Branch Manager I also assists in hiring, training, and evaluating employees, representing the branch in the community, maintaining communications with Retail Operations, and ensuring branch activities comply with credit union policies and procedures.

Essential Functions & Responsibilities
  • While meeting the service standards for the credit union, assist in directing, developing, motivating and coaching branch staff. Assist in monitoring branch production results relative to established objectives and insure that appropriate steps are taken to correct unsatisfactory conditions. Actively cross sell credit union services to members and coach staff to do the same. Service members, open new accounts, and conduct loan closings when necessary. Provide support to staff serving members and resolve problems as necessary.
  • Assist in hiring, training, directing, and evaluating employee performance within the branch; ensure manager is aware of performance problems and take appropriate disciplinary action as instructed.
  • Assist in representing the branch as appropriate in its relationships with coworkers, members, sponsor organizations(s), suppliers, other financial institutions, and similar groups. Participate in and attend various community, chamber and charitable organization meetings to enhance the credit union's image and visibility to perspective members.
  • Assist in maintaining communications with Retail Operations and other credit union departments; assist in preparing and submitting standard reports; attend scheduled management meetings when necessary.
  • Assist in monitoring all branch activities to insure they are in compliance with established credit union policies and procedures and security standards.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

  • To complete performance reviews within the prescribed time frame.
  • To develop and maintain business partner relationships within the community.
  • To follow all security policies and procedures and report discrepancies or suspicious activity to manager immediately.
  • To maintain a professional work environment, promote teamwork, build respect among coworkers and present a businesslike appearance.
  • To follow the credit union’s Bank Secrecy Act and anti-money laundering policies and procedures, including running OFAC searches, completing investigative reports of suspicious activity and currency transaction reports timely and without error.
Knowledge and Skills
Experience

Three years to five years of similar or related experience.

Education

(1) A two-year college degree, or (2) completion of a specialized certification or licensing, or (3) completion of specialized training courses conducted by vendors, or (4) job‑specific skills acquired through an apprenticeship program.

Interpersonal Skills

Work involves much personal contact with others inside and/or outside the organization for the purpose of first-level conflict resolution, building relationships, and soliciting cooperation. Discussions involve a higher degree of confidentiality and discretion, requiring diplomacy and tact in communication.

Other Skills

Must have good communication skills.
