Job summary

Summit Credit Union in Fitchburg is seeking an Assistant Branch Manager to lead and develop the branch team while ensuring smooth daily operations and exceptional member service.

You will coach staff, manage workflows, and help members with more complex financial needs, all while building relationships in the local community and advancing our member-first culture.

This role emphasizes collaboration, integrity, and opportunities for growth within a mission-driven organization.

Qualifications

• Associate degree or equivalent relevant experience.
• Two or more years in retail or financial services.
• Ability to obtain and maintain an NMLS number.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Good judgment, adaptability, and problem-solving.
• Active listening and proactive member relations.
• Basic proficiency with Microsoft Office.
• Solid math skills and the ability to learn more complex financial concepts.

• Physical Demands of Position: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is continuously required to stand, walk and sit, use hands and fingers. The employee occasionally must reach above and below shoulder level, and lift/push/pull and/or carry up to 40 pounds.
• Environmental/Working Conditions: Works in a typical administrative setting with climate control and appropriate lighting. Saturday hours required.
• Equipment Used: Computer terminal/PC, calculator, printer/copiers, telephone.
