Job summary

Lawton Public Schools is seeking a part-time, temporary athletic coach to lead varsity programs and coordinate with junior varsity staff, athletes, parents, and the community.

Responsibilities include equipment management, inventory control, rules compliance, reporting (eligibility, transportation, end-of-year), processing supply requisitions, supervising annual physicals, and performing other duties as assigned. This position emphasizes community involvement and safety standards within Oklahoma.

Qualifications

• High School completion is required.
• Care and Prevention Course completed or in progress.
• Oklahoma Teaching Certification is not required for this role.

Responsibilities

• Coach the varsity team and coordinate the junior varsity team with the school, athletes, parents, and community.
• Check equipment in and out, maintain inventory, and clean/store equipment.
• Know and apply sport rules and attend rule meetings.
• Prepare and submit local and state reports: eligibility, transportation, official, financial, semester, end-of-year reports.
• Complete requisitions for supplies and services.
• Supervise the physical examinations for each athlete.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES AND ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

• Coach the varsity team and coordinate the junior varsity team with the school, athletes, parents, and community.
• Responsible for checking equipment in and out, keeping a correct inventory, cleaning and storing of equipment.
• Knowledgeable of the rules and regulations that govern the sport and attend rule meetings.
• Responsible for local and state reports to include:eligibility reports, transportation requests, official reports, financial reports, semester reports, end of the year reports.
• Complete requisitions for supplies and services.
• Supervise the physical examinations for each athlete.
• Other duties as may be assigned.
