Job summary

Skyview High School in Vancouver, Washington is seeking an Assistant Boys Swim Coach for the 2026-2027 school year. Under the supervision of the Athletic Director and building principal, you will run practices, help with game strategy, and develop athletes while adhering to WIAA policies.

The role requires flexibility, commitment to safety and character development, and the ability to work with diverse students and families.

Qualifications

Knowledge of the sport and program.
Recent coaching experience with K-12 athletes preferred.
Current First Aid and CPR card, or ability to obtain prior to start date.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Experience with strong organizational and leadership abilities.
Ability to work cooperatively with a diverse student body and families.

Responsibilities

Develop and articulate a vision for the program that emphasizes character and a positive athlete experience.
Recruit student athletes for the coach’s school.
Conduct practices focusing on proper technique and mechanics.
Attend and supervise games and execute game strategy.
Complete required district and WIAA trainings around sport rules and safety.
Maintain uniforms and equipment.
Communicate effectively with staff, students, parents, and community.
Work as a team and follow program direction.
Attend Coaches’ Institute training in August.
