Job summary

DeWitt Public Schools in Michigan seeks an Assistant Boys Basketball Coach to develop student-athletes throughout the season, guiding practices, transportation and competition at other schools. You will serve as a primary role model for coaches, staff, parents, and the community, fostering leadership qualities in all players.

This seasonal assignment reports to the High School Athletic Director and the Varsity Basketball Coach, and aligns with the sports program as directed by the varsity coach.

Qualifications

Knowledge of coaching basketball.
Two (2) or more years coaching experience preferred.
Knowledge of strength and conditioning.
Quality communication skills.
Basic knowledge of first aid.

Responsibilities

Direct student athletes at practice, transportation, and at other schools or locations.
Serve as a primary role model for coaches, staff, parents, community and students.
Promote and project leadership qualities for all student-athletes.

The Assistant Boys Basketball Coach is responsible for maintaining a focus on the team's development and continuous improvement throughout the season, by directing student athletes at practice, during transportation, at other schools or other locations. He/she is a primary role model for coaches, staff, parents, community and students and promotes and projects leadership qualities for all student-athletes.

Follows sports program as set by varsity coach
