Job summary

University Athletics is seeking an Assistant Baseball Coach to support instructional, administrative, and recruiting duties under the Head Coach and Director of Athletics. You will help teach baseball fundamentals, conduct practices, support recruiting, and assist with fundraising while mentoring student-athletes.

The role requires a Bachelor's degree and at least one year of coaching experience, strong communication and organizational skills, and a commitment to diversity and confidentiality.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university.
• Minimum one (1) year of experience in coaching baseball or other related baseball activities.
• Strong communications skills, both written and verbal, and interpersonal skills.
• Strong organizational skills.
• Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously.
• Ability to exercise important human relations skills in establishing and maintaining effective working relations with the university community and the public.
• Ability to maintain composure when faced with difficult situations and to effectively identify and resolve problems and to maintain strict confidentiality related to sensitive information.
• Demonstrated commitment to diversity and experience promoting inclusive excellence.

Responsibilities

• Assists the Head Coach in implementing sport training and instructing student-athletes in baseball fundamentals and rules.
• Assists in providing sport skill instruction, conducts practice sessions, performs game duties, and motivates players.
• Contributes to recruiting efforts through on-campus visits and off-campus evaluation.
• Supports team fundraising initiatives.
• Mentors student athletes and represents the University positively.
• Abides by SLIAC and NCAA rules and regulations.
