Description

What You’ll Do:

  • Interview, hire, train staff, evaluate performance, resolve issues, communicate openly, and recommend discipline or termination when necessary. Use PMHS efforts for recruiting and onboarding.
  • Supervise setup of function rooms, including linens, silverware, china, and glassware, according to event specifications. Inspect rooms and equipment for cleanliness and proper setup before events.
  • Communicate calmly and positively with kitchen, service, beverage, convention services, engineering staff, and guest hosts to ensure timely, quality service and compliance with safety and health regulations.
  • Oversee serving staff to ensure adherence to regulations regarding alcohol service.
  • Ensure cash handling policies are followed by banquet staff and maintain compliance with accounting practices.
  • Supervise cleanup and proper storage of equipment after events.
  • Enter billing information accurately into POS systems to generate final guest checks.
  • Manage staff attendance and adjust staffing as needed to ensure quality service.
  • Provide clear verbal and written instructions to staff.
  • Maintain regular attendance and punctuality.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

Abilities Required:

  • Effective communication in English; professional appearance and demeanor.
  • Ability to work well with guests and team members, and to assist colleagues as needed.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of food and beverage service standards, guest relations, and etiquette.
  • Knowledge of table settings, service ware, and health and safety regulations.
  • Physical ability to lift up to 50 pounds and operate food and beverage equipment.
  • Ability to set realistic goals and work flexible hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
