Job summary

Albertsons Companies is seeking an Assistant Bakery Department Manager to lead daily bakery operations, ensure quality, freshness, and exceptional customer service in a fast-paced environment.

You will oversee a bakery team, assist with production planning, merchandising, and inventory, while promoting teamwork and maintaining safety standards. Flexible availability including early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays is required.

• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and work in hot and cold temperature environments.

Responsibilities

• Assist in overseeing daily Bakery Department operations, ensuring high standards for quality, freshness, presentation, and customer service.
• Foster a welcoming, customer-focused environment and resolve customer concerns and special orders
• Assist with planning and executing daily bakery production based on sales trends and seasonal demand.
• Execute merchandising plans, promotions, planograms, and seasonal programs
• Assist in managing department sales, labor, scheduling, ordering, inventory, and shrink goals.
• Support compliance with food safety, sanitation, and regulatory requirements.
• Assist with hiring, training, coaching, and developing bakery associates while promoting teamwork and accountability.
• Perform Bakery Department duties as needed and assume responsibility for department operations in the absence of the Bakery Manager

• Ability to review sales, labor, and production data to inform departmental planning
• Ability to train, coach, and develop associates at various skill levels
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and work in hot and cold temperature environments
