Job summary

Kneaders Bakery & Cafe in Gilbert, AZ is looking for a talented part-time Assistant Bread Baker who shares a passion for quality breads and warm service.

You will work afternoons to evenings, start around 11 am to 7 pm, and may need a Sunday shift; the team bakes artisan, sweet, and seasonal breads from honest ingredients.

The role emphasizes following recipes, standing for long periods, and maintaining food-safety standards while exploring growth paths in pastry and bakery operations.

Qualifications

• Must have afternoon/evening availability.
• Experience in delivering consistent quality pastries/breads is preferred.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand/walk for long periods.
• Willingness to learn Kneaders' recipes and standards.

Responsibilities

• Assist in baking artisan, sweet, and seasonal breads using Kneaders recipes.
• Follow recipes and maintain consistency and quality across products.
• Stand and move for long periods; observe food safety and sanitation standards.
• Support bakery team with daily tasks and shifts, including Sundays when required.

Kneaders Bakery & Cafe is currently looking for a talented part-time Assistant Bread Baker. We are looking for an individual who is as passionate about food quality, customer service, community & as we are! In the role of Assistant Bread Baker, you will have the opportunity to be part of a dynamic team who will offer a unique menu selection of artisan, sweet, & seasonal breads all baked with honest, whole ingredients.A successful Assistant Bread Baker at Kneaders Bakery & Cafe must possess:

• Proven track record of demonstrating superhero abilities in the kitchen from following recipes to paying close attention to additional details to create one-of-a-kind breads. Lifting large amounts of dough, flour, and other supplies all weighing 50 lbs. or more.
• Requires continuous standing and walking throughout the shift, with limited opportunities for sitting. Ability to perform essential job functions with or without reasonable accommodation is required
• The ability to work through change & be able to be flexible all while keeping a close eye on what's cooking!
• The schedule availability to work afternoons/nights. Bread Baking shifts start around 11 am - 7 pm, plus a shift on Sunday (when the store is closed). During holiday seasons the Bread Baking team schedule may flex into overnight shifts too
  

A successful Assistant Bread Baker at Kneaders Bakery & Cafe need to be qualified with:

• Large-scale baking/pastry experience (preferred but not required; we are willing to train the right person!)
• Attentiveness to compliance with local, state, & federal regulations for food handler & sanitation standards
• Formal baking/pastry education is a bonus!
• Requires continuous standing and walking throughout the shift, with limited opportunities for sitting. Ability to perform essential job functions with or without reasonable accommodation is required
