Job summary

Kneaders Bakery & Cafe in Gilbert, AZ is seeking a talented Assistant Bread Baker (part-time) who shares our passion for food quality, service, and community. You will join a dynamic team producing artisan, sweet, and seasonal breads baked with honest ingredients.

Candidates must be at least 18, able to stand and lift 50 lbs, with afternoon/evening availability. Shifts run around 11 am–7 pm, with a Sunday shift when the store is closed; training is provided.

Qualifications

• Large-scale baking/pastry experience preferred (training possible)
• Attentiveness to compliance with food handler and sanitation standards
• Formal baking/pastry education is a bonus

• Demonstrate following recipes and attention to details to create breads
• Lift 50 lbs or more of dough, flour and supplies

Kneaders Bakery & Cafe is currently looking for a talented part-time Assistant Bread Baker. We are looking for an individual who is as passionate about food quality, customer service, community & as we are! In the role of Assistant Bread Baker, you will have the opportunity to be part of a dynamic team who will offer a unique menu selection of artisan, sweet, & seasonal breads all baked with honest, whole ingredients.

A successful Assistant Bread Baker at Kneaders Bakery & Cafe must possess:

• Proven track record of demonstrating superhero abilities in the kitchen from following recipes to paying close attention to additional details to create one-of-a-kind breads. Lifting large amounts of dough, flour, and other supplies all weighing 50 lbs. or more.
• Requires continuous standing and walking throughout the shift, with limited opportunities for sitting. Ability to perform essential job functions with or without reasonable accommodation is required
• The ability to work through change & be able to be flexible all while keeping a close eye on what's cooking!
• The schedule availability to work afternoons/nights. Bread Baking shifts start around 11 am - 7 pm, plus a shift on Sunday (when the store is closed). During holiday seasons the Bread Baking team schedule may flex into overnight shifts too

A successful Assistant Bread Baker at Kneaders Bakery & Cafe need to be qualified with:

• Large-scale baking/pastry experience (preferred but not required; we are willing to train the right person!)
• Attentiveness to compliance with local, state, & federal regulations for food handler & sanitation standards
• Formal baking/pastry education is a bonus!
• Requires continuous standing and walking throughout the shift, with limited opportunities for sitting. Ability to perform essential job functions with or without reasonable accommodation is required
