State of South Carolina seeks an Assistant Attorney General to join the Securities Section. You will represent the Securities and Money Services Sections during investigative stages and in trial, hearing, and appellate phases, negotiate resolutions, and prepare pleadings.

Travel may be required to court and to transport files as needed. Active SC Bar membership in good standing and compliance with Rule 403 are required.

Formación

• Must be an active member in good standing with the SC Bar.

• Knowledge of the laws of South Carolina.
• Knowledge of general case, statutory, and common law.
• Ability to interpret and apply laws in court decisions.
• Ability to analyze facts, evidence, and legal instruments.
• Ability to express conclusions and arguments clearly and logically.
• Ability to plan and direct the activities of a legal staff.

Responsabilidades

• Represent the Securities and Money Services Sections in the investigative stages of securities and money services cases.
• Following the investigation, make recommendations regarding the appropriate resolution of assigned cases.
• Prepares pleadings related to assigned cases.
• Successfully negotiates assigned cases.
• Represent the Securities and Money Services Sections in the trial or hearing and appellate phases of assigned cases.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the Division Director or the Attorney General.

About Securities

Under limited supervision, performs professional legal work for the State, its subdivisions, and officials. Assigned to the Securities Section as Assistant Attorney General.

• Represents the Securities and Money Services Sections in the investigative stages of securities and money services cases.
• Following the investigation, make recommendations regarding the appropriate resolution of assigned cases.
• Prepares pleadings related to assigned cases.
• Successfully negotiates assigned cases.
• Represent the Securities and Money Services Sections in the trial or hearing and appellate phases of assigned cases.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the Division Director or the Attorney General.
