NC State University’s Athletics Department seeks an Assistant Athletics Trainer for Football in Raleigh. You will provide medical care to student-athletes, covering prevention, treatment and rehabilitation, and assist with facility operations and budgets.

Travel with teams as needed and maintain accurate medical records. Requires NATABOC certification or eligibility, a bachelor’s degree, and NC AT license eligibility, with strong interpersonal and computer skills to support a high-performance

Essential Job Duties

This position serves as an Athletic Trainer to assigned team. Responsibilities include: care of student-athletes, to include prevention, treatment and rehabilitation of the injured student-athletes under the supervision of the Medical Director; assisting with preparation of budget requests and managing inventory of supplies for athletic training facility operations; interfacing with coaches regarding injured student-athletes; following the NATA Code of Ethics; remaining current on all state and national requirements for license renewal; agreeing to comply with all University, ACC, and NCAA bylaws and legislation; supervises student workers and Graduate Assistants; assisting in the daily operation of the athletic training facility; ensuring proper use of equipment and facilities by student-athletes; working with Assistant Athletics Director for Sports Medicine and the Medical Director in providing proper evaluation, treatment and rehabilitation of injured student-athletes; maintaining medical records on student-athletes to include physical examinations, insurance information and injury evaluation reports; attending scheduled team practices and events, including traveling with teams, as assigned; providing emergency care when indicated; assisting with maintenance of athletic training facility equipment; and assisting with annual physical examinations and drug testing program.

This position will serve as an Athletic Trainer in the Department of Athletics for assigned sport(s). The Athletic Trainer is responsible for performing duties associated with the care of student-athletes, per the five major professional practice domains, under the supervision of the Team Physician.

Duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

• Works with the Associate Athletics Director for Sports Medicine and Team Physicians in providing comprehensive healthcare to our student-athletes
• Injury and illness prevention and wellness promotion
• Examination, assessment and diagnosis
• Immediate and emergency care
• Therapeutic intervention
• Performs and takes responsibility for health care administrative duties assigned
• Maintains medical records on student-athletes to include physical examinations and screenings, insurance information, injury evaluation and treatment records
• Attends scheduled meetings, team practices and events, including traveling with assigned team(s) and assist with providing secondary and conflict coverage
• Assists in operating the athletic training room/sports medicine facilities
• Assists with maintenance of athletic training room/sports medicine facility equipment
• Ensures proper use of equipment and facilities by student-athletes
• Assists with annual physical examinations and drug testing program
• Assists with preparation of budget requests and managing inventory of supplies for athletic training room/sports medicine operations
• Interfaces with coaches regarding injured student-athletes
• Appropriately communicates with members of administration and Pack Performance members, regarding participation status of student-athletes
• Agrees to follow and comply: NATA Code of Ethics, BOC Standards of Professional Practice, and Disciplinary Guidelines and Procedures, continuing competence (education) requirements, and all additional regulatory agency statutes, University, ACC, and NCAA bylaws, guidelines, legislation, and mandates
• Remains current and compliant with all state and national requirements for certification and licensure
• Perform other duties as requested by the Sr. Associate Athletics Director for Sports Medicine and Head Athletic Trainer
• Sport assignment may be changed at the discretion of the Associate Athletics Director for Sports Medicine in coordination with the Department of Athletics

Other Responsibilities

• Performs other duties as requested by the Assistant Athletics Director for Sports Medicine.

Minimum Education and Experience

• Bachelor's Degree.

Preferred Qualifications

• Master's degree preferred.
• Division I/Pro Football experience preferred.
