ASSISTANT ATHLETIC TRAINER (4 POSITIONS AVAILABLE)

Salary Range

$24.31 - $46.90/Hourly (Budgeted Hiring Salary Range $24.31 - $27.03/Hourly)

Work Schedule

On-Call, Sunday – Saturday, hours vary; temporary appointment, expires on or before June 30, 2025; may be extended; non-exempt classification.

Essential Functions

1. Perform clinical athletic training functions including injury prevention, assessment, and rehabilitation.
2. Consult with physicians, health professionals, and coaching staff regarding injuries and treatment plans.
3. Use therapeutic modalities per physician orders and advise students on injury prevention and physical maintenance.
4. Evaluate student athletes' physical condition and assist in designing conditioning programs.
5. Attend practices and athletic events, provide emergency medical coverage, and travel as needed.
6. Maintain equipment, cleanliness, and records of injuries, treatments, and progress.
7. Supervise athletic training facilities and support staff/volunteers.

Minimum Qualifications

Equivalent to a bachelor’s degree in athletic training, physical education, kinesiology, or related field, including completion of BOC curriculum requirements. Must possess and maintain BOC certification. Knowledge of athletic training principles, injury prevention, assessment, rehabilitation, therapeutic modalities, NCAA rules, OSHA standards, HIPAA compliance, and ability to work in a multicultural environment. Background check required.

Preferred Qualifications

Master’s degree in athletic training, physical education, kinesiology, or related field. CPR/AED and first aid certification.
