Job summary

The Portland Trail Blazers at the Rose Quarter are seeking an Assistant Athletic Trainer to support health, rehabilitation, and performance for Rip City Remix players. You’ll partner with athletic trainers, physicians, therapists, and performance staff to deliver athlete-centered care.

You will apply clinical expertise, communicate effectively, and contribute to an integrated Health & Performance environment, while growing skills in professional basketball.

Qualifications

• CAATE-accredited program completion or equivalent pathway.
• Current ATC credential and Oregon licensure eligibility.
• CPR/AED certification and strong clinical judgment.
• Proven ability to work in an interdisciplinary health/performance team.
• Excellent communication and documentation skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide evaluation, treatment, rehab, and ongoing management of player injuries and conditions.
• Deliver daily athletic training services including preparation, treatment, recovery, rehab, and injury risk reduction.
• Develop and progress individualized rehab and return-to-performance programs.
• Work with Health & Performance team on readiness and return-to-play planning.
• Cover practices, games, workouts, and basketball activities.
• Maintain accurate medical records and support emergency plans.
• Collaborate with staff to ensure readiness and high-performance care.
