Job summary

The University of Alabama at Birmingham is seeking an Assistant Athletic Trainer (2) to provide healthcare for athletic teams. You will evaluate and treat injuries, oversee rehabilitation, and supervise training during practices and games.

You will liaise with the Sports Medicine Care Team, maintain medical documentation, and ensure compliance with NCAA and institutional policies. A Bachelor's degree in a related field, 1 year of related experience, BOC certification, and Alabama state licensure

Description

Responsible for the healthcare of athletic teams and serve as the athletic trainer for an assigned sport. Evaluates and treats athletic injuries and illnesses including rehabilitation. Supervises athletic training at an athletic practice and competition. Serves as a liaison with the Sports Medicine Care Team for a particular sport. Maintains all medical documentation relating to the assigned sport. Performs other duties as needed. Adheres to all institution, conference and National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) rules and regulations. Reports all known NCAA violations in accordance with institutional, conference and NCAA policies and guidelines.

Salary Range: $43,890 - $52,500

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in a related field and one (1) year of related experience required. Work experience may NOT substitute for education requirement. Currently certified as an Athletic Trainer by the Board of Certification (BOC). Must obtain licensure for Athletic Training by the State of Alabama upon hire.
