Salary: $65,000
OVERVIEW:
Manhattan University, an NCAA Division I institution and member of the Metro-Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC), is seeking a qualified candidate for a full-time position of Assistant Athletic Trainer to work with our 21 Division I sport programs. This position assists the Assistant Athletic Director for Sports Medicine/Head Athletic Trainer and staff with the safety and welfare of the student-athletes.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Assist the Assistant Athletic Director for Sports Medicine/Head Athletic Trainer with the day to day operations of the athletic training room.
Provide treatment and care to injured athletes.
Serve as liaison between team physicians, athletic administrators and coaches.
Maintain comprehensive medical documentation.
Assist with the administering of institutional drug testing programs, game/event and practice coverage and team travel.
Collaborate with assistant athletic trainers and supervise work study students.
Assist with the processing of secondary insurance claims.
Assist with pre-participation health screens.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
NATABOC certified, NY State licensed or eligible. CPR / AED certified.
Strong computer, interpersonal and organizational skills.
Ability to travel, work evenings, weekends and some holidays as needed.
Master’s degree in Athletic Training or related field.
2-3 years of experience in the college or professional sports setting.
Ability to work evenings, weekends and some holidays as needed.
Possess a valid driver’s license.
Ability to lift equipment on occasion and work in various environmental conditions.
Ability to foster positive relationships and create partnerships with a wide range of constituent groups.
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, strong attention to detail and keep specific timelines.
Working knowledge of NCAA rules and regulations.
Strong interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills with the ability to problem solve.
