The Superintendent of Schools announces the following position within the Fall River Public School System:

Position:

Athletic Trainer

Job Description:

The Athletic Trainer is the primary caregiver providing treatment and rehabilitative attention to high school athletes. Services include assessment, injury prevention, evaluation, documentation, immediate care, referrals, follow-up treatment, and communication with athletes, families, and coaches.

Performance Responsibilities:

1. Provide athletic trainer services to student athletes in Fall River Schools.
2. Adhere to MIAA and district policies regarding participation and safety.
3. Attend athletic events as scheduled.
4. Monitor safety conditions during athletic activities.
5. Participate in screening and educational events on injuries and concussion protocols.
6. Promote injury prevention and safety strategies.
7. Manage and treat injuries, including rehabilitation.
8. Act as the first responder for injuries and collaborate on referrals.
9. Maintain accurate injury and treatment records.
10. Perform additional tasks as assigned.

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Athletic Training or related field from an accredited program.
• Current Athletic Trainer license and BOC certification.
• Emergency Cardiac Care certification.
• Ability to collaborate with healthcare providers.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

The Superintendent may waive qualifications or accept alternatives, with notice to the Fall River School Committee.
