Job summary

Saint Xavier University seeks an Assistant Athletic Trainer to provide medical care and coverage for twelve intercollegiate sports, including football and baseball, with travel as needed. You will maintain injury and rehabilitation records and assist in rehabilitation planning and off-season conditioning.

You will participate in pre-participation physicals, attend staff meetings, and support the Head Athletic Trainer and administration in delivering quality care to student-athletes.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree is required.
• BOC certification as an athletic trainer.
• Illinois licensure or eligibility before start date.
• Minimum of 2 years collegiate-level experience.
• CPR and First Aid certification; meet BOC education standards.

Summary

Reporting directly to the Head Athletic Trainer, the assistant athletic trainer will assist with providing medical care and coverage for twelve intercollegiate sports; travel and provide athletic training coverage for selected sports, particularly in football and baseball and assisting with additional coverage; maintain comprehensive injury, treatment, and rehabilitation records; develop rehabilitation and strengthening strategies for treatment, prevention, and off-season periods; handles pre-participation physical examinations for all student-athletes; attend departmental and athletic training staff meetings; other duties as assigned by Head Athletic Trainer/Administration.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

This position will report directly to the Head Athletic Trainer.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required
• BOC certification as an athletic trainer
• Illinois Licensed or eligible before start date
• 2+ years experience at the collegiate level
• CPR and First Aid certified and meet the education minimum standards of the BOC
• Description of Hours: Job will require a flexible schedule during the week and well as weekends, holidays and possible travel.
