Job summary

Fleming County High School, part of Fleming County Schools in Flemingsburg, Kentucky, is seeking an Assistant Athletic Coach to support head coaches across athletic programs. The role involves assisting daily and long-range activities, planning the program, and supervising athletes under head coaches.

The successful candidate will work under the principal and athletic director, attend trainings, and help maintain team spirit while ensuring safety and order during travel and events.

Qualifications

• Basic knowledge of and experience with the sport to be coached.
• Experience with coaching or work with students in extra-curricular/co-curricular teams, preferred.
• Citizenship, residency or work visa required.

Responsibilities

• Assist coaches in daily and long-range athletic activities.
• Assist coaches in planning the athletic program.
• Conduct learning experiences under the direction of head coaches, with small groups of student athletes.
• Assist in guiding participants toward a harmonious team spirit.
• Provide escort assistance and supervision to athletes during team travel.
• Recommend to head coach the purchase of equipment, supplies and uniforms for health, safety and welfare of athletes.
• Attend all required trainings/meetings.
• Perform other related duties as assigned by the principal, athletic director or head coach.
