We seek colleagues with preferred specialization in Composition, Rhetoric, and Writing to join our Writing Program’s interdisciplinary team of teaching-track faculty. We welcome collaborative, innovative administrators and instructors who will complement our strengths in inclusive pedagogy, cultural rhetorics, community-based writing, digital humanities, and writing with quantitative data.
The successful candidate will be prepared immediately to serve as the Director of First-Year Writing (FYW). As such, we seek candidates with expertise in first-year composition pedagogy and related research and assessment experience. First-year writing serves about half of the Emory undergraduate student body (~800 students/year) and the director’s responsibilities include training and mentoring instructors at all levels, supporting prospective and enrolled students, developing and assessing curriculum, and running continuing education for writing instructors. While serving as Director of First-Year Writing, they will also collaborate with faculty in the Writing Program to develop and teach a writing pedagogy practicum for graduate student instructors.
