Job summary

Mississippi State University is seeking an Assistant or Associate Teaching Professor in Counseling Psychology for its Meridian Campus. This non-tenure track position will commence in fall 2024. Position Function

Assistant or Associate Teaching Professor at Mississippi State University on the Meridian Campus. The Division of Education invites applicants for a non-tenure track Assistant/Associate Teaching Professor position in the Master of Science and Doctor of Psychology degree program in Combined Health Services Psychology beginning fall 2024.

Salary Grade

UC – Unclassified. Salary range determined by the hiring department.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

MSU offers an MS and PsyD program in Combined Health Services Psychology, with concentrations in Clinical, Counseling, and School Psychology. Primary responsibilities include graduate teaching and advisement; supervision of field experience; and providing service and outreach. Faculty work closely with area schools and clinical settings.

Minimum Qualifications
  • Doctorate in Psychology or a closely related field with an emphasis in Counseling Psychology
  • Eligibility for MS or national licensure as a counseling psychologist
  • Demonstration of excellence in teaching and/or service (Associate Teaching Professor) or demonstration of potential for excellence in these areas (Assistant Teaching Professor)
  • ABD's will be considered if the degree will be completed by August 15, 2024
  • Level of appointment is commensurate with qualifications and experience
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with APA accreditation process
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience as a counseling psychologist
  • Experience with teaching at the graduate level
  • Experience with teaching virtually or online
