Job description

Physician Assistant Program – Faculty (Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor)

The Physician Assistant Program at Mississippi State University’s Meridian Campus invites applications for a tenure-track faculty appointment at the rank of Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor. The faculty member will engage in teaching, simulation development, laboratory instruction, small group facilitation, assessment and evaluation of students, and recruitment of guest lecturers. The role will also contribute to the program’s provisional accreditation process and interdisciplinary research initiatives.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities
  • Implement, evaluate, and revise the didactic and clinical phase curriculum.
  • Complete ARC-PA provisional accreditation tasks as assigned.
  • Serve as course director for assigned didactic courses.
  • Collaborate with faculty to provide instruction and assess student performance across courses.
  • Develop and implement instructional content for lectures, labs, and small group learning.
  • Participate in academic advising and student mentoring.
  • Support the admissions process and student recruitment.
  • Participate in grading written assignments, examinations, OSCEs, practical skill assessments, and oral presentations.
  • Participate in faculty meetings, retreats, and curriculum development initiatives.
  • Engage in clinical practice or research activities as directed by the Program Director.
  • Maintain professionalism and serve as a role model for PA students.
  • Complete other responsibilities as assigned by the Program Director.
  • Engage in interdisciplinary research and collaborations within MSU and external partners.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Degree from an accredited program in the respective medical provider field (PA, MD, DO).
  • Board certification in the respective field.
  • Licensed or eligible for licensure in Mississippi.
  • Rank and salary commensurate with education and experience.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Doctoral degree in medicine, health sciences, or education.
  • Teaching experience in a PA program or related medical education setting.
  • Record of scholarly activity and publications relevant to Physician Assistant studies.

Working Conditions
