Description:
This position is expected to maintain an independent research program in our area of expertise, get the laboratory up and running; hire experienced staff; generate data towards publishing papers as a senior author; the position requires the writing of manuscripts, submission of progress reports to funding agencies, and maintenance of laboratory records. Also, the candidate must acquire extramural sources and expand collaboration with departmental and extra-departmental colleagues. The candidate will be involved in teaching graduate and medical students and will be required to provide service to the department and university by serving on committees and in other capacities as needed. Additionally, it is expected that the successful candidate will perform all functions related to their ongoing studies, including supervising students and laboratory technicians.
The requirements for this position include having either a Ph.D., M.D., D.M.D., D.O. degree, or equivalent; 3-4 years of postdoctoral research experience; a distinguished record of scholarly activity, and the ability to participate in departmental teaching.
Attention will be given to applicants whose areas of research complement and strengthen existing research areas within the Department and the wider School of Medicine. Preference will be given to applicants that have NIH RO1 or equivalent funding at the K-award or higher level.
