Job Description
The Assistant/Associate Professor position in Social Work/Human Services will be responsible for teaching a variety of courses across the BSW, MSW, and/or Human Services curricula, with a particular emphasis on direct practice and methods courses. A tenure-earning faculty member contributes to the university through excellence in teaching, research, and service. They are expected to deliver high-quality instruction, maintain an active research agenda with scholarly outputs, and engage in service to the department, university, and profession. This role requires a balanced commitment to student success, knowledge advancement, and academic community involvement.
Minimum Qualifications: (1) master’s degree in social work from a CSWE accredited program or a related discipline; (2) Ph.D. DSW, or ABD in Social Work or related field; (3) Minimum of two years of post-MSW direct practice experience.
Preferred Qualifications: (1) Ph.D., DSW, or ABD in Social Work or allied field; (2) Canvas LMS experience; (3) Curriculum development experience; (4) Accreditation experience (5) Interest in pursuing grants and contracts that lead to applied, community-based research/evaluation projects.
