Job summary

Kansas City University is seeking an Assistant or Associate Professor of Psychology to supervise doctoral trainees and collaborate with school systems on behavioral health programming.

The role focuses on training, systems-level impact, and interdisciplinary collaboration rather than direct clinical service delivery, with responsibilities across the PsyD program, CPHE, and partner districts.

Qualifications

• Doctoral degree and license in Clinical, Counseling, or School Psychology from an APA-accredited program.
• Knowledge, sensitivity, and passion for diversity, multiculturalism, social justice, and community service.
• Demonstrated success with teaching and classroom management skills.
• Experience mentoring students.
• Impeccable oral and written communication skills.
• Ability to employ critical thinking and analysis to solve complex problems.
• Ability to interact successfully with academic, clinical, business, and regulatory personnel.
• Ability to work within and support a diverse environment of students and colleagues.
• Strong interpersonal skills.
• High level of proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.

Responsibilities

• Supervision of PsyD trainees delivering psychotherapy services in public school settings.
• Provide consultation to school personnel on behavioral health, student support, and systems-level interventions.
• Collaborate with CPHE and partner school districts to develop school-based behavioral health programming.
• Oversee weekly therapy practicum seminar and contribute to program development, evaluation, and accreditation activities.
