The primary focus is doctoral student supervision, consultation with school partners, and development of school‑based behavioral health programming, supporting training, systems‑level impact, and interdisciplinary collaboration rather than direct service delivery.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

    • Collaborate with school‑based professionals to ensure quality training experiences.
  • Consultation and Collaboration
    • Serve as a liaison between KCU and partner school districts, coordinating school‑based mental health professionals and administrators to support student access to psychotherapy services.
    • Provide consultation to school personnel on behavioral health, student support, and systems‑level interventions.
    • Collaborate with multidisciplinary school teams to align psychotherapy training experiences with student and community mental health needs.
  • Program Development and Implementation
    • Contribute to the development and refinement of school‑based behavioral health programming.
    • Assist in building sustainable training models and partnerships with local school systems.
    • Collaborate with the CPHE on initiatives addressing access and equity in youth mental health services.
  • Academic and Service Responsibilities
    • Oversee weekly therapy practicum seminar for third‑year PsyD trainees.
    • Provide service to the department, university, and community.
    • Contribute to program development, evaluation, and accreditation‑related activities as appropriate.
    • Perform other duties as assigned by the Program Director.
Qualifications
  • Doctoral degree and license in Clinical, Counseling, or School Psychology (PsyD or PhD) from an APA‑accredited program.
  • Knowledge, sensitivity, and passion for diversity, multiculturalism, social justice, and community service.
  • Demonstrated success with teaching and classroom management skills.
  • Experience mentoring students.
  • Impeccable oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to employ critical thinking and analysis to solve complex problems.
  • Ability to interact successfully with academic, clinical, business, and regulatory personnel.
  • Ability to work effectively within and support a diverse environment of students and colleagues.
  • Ability to work effectively as a team member to ensure department goals are met, prioritizing students’ and graduates’ best interest.
  • Strong interpersonal skills.
  • High level of proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience providing and/or supervising psychotherapy services in school or community‑based settings.
  • Familiarity with evidence‑based therapeutic approaches applicable to children and adolescents in school settings (CBT, trauma‑informed care, DBT, etc.).
  • Interest in interdisciplinary and population health approaches.
